This is Only the Beginning- Jacqueline Week 6

Well my very first jump start is nearing completion and it’s been a challenging six weeks. I have definitely had my share of ups and downs; ups being 100% compliant with great meals, great energy and dedication, downs being crashing and burning back to my old ways.
I’ve really learned a lot about the power that food has over me. Even when I was doing my best with this diet and feeling great about myself and my progress, I was still so easily swayed by a little temptation. I’ve learned this has got to be an all or nothing plan for me, at least for the foreseeable future. There’s no dabbling in it on weekdays, and going off the rails on the weekend. I need to take the power back that food has over me.
I’ve also learned the importance of preparation. I did my best when I was prepared, had meals ready to go and grab when I was short on time. It’s when I wasn’t prepared that I grabbed snacks along the way and fell of course.
So when I began I laid out some goals and here’s where I stand now:
  1. Lose weight. I’m on my way. I still have a ways to go but I’m so close to the 10 lb mark and I want to watch the scales keep moving.
  2. Increased energy. Definitely. Being back to work now I’m not hitting that slump in the afternoon and have plenty of energy when I get home to keep up with my boys.
  3. No more eczema. Not yet. I think if I had been more dedicated to the diet I would have seen better results. But with some bad flare ups over the past few weeks, I need to commit because I want it gone!
  4. To fall in love with health again. Absolutely! I’ve enjoyed preparing meals, trying new recipes and being conscious about health again.
This was my first jumpstart and foray into this lifestyle, and despite not being as successful as I wanted to be, I’m not giving up. This is only the beginning of my health journey and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
