Good news to report this week! I lost 4.2 pounds! For a total lost since the beginning of the month of 12 pounds!

Last week I was up 1.4 pounds when I weighed and it threw me for a loop. On Saturday I went out to lunch and just ate whatever I wanted. I won’t list all the food I ate, but believe me it was not ETL compliant! Of course as soon as we got home I felt like s&!# and really had the urge to purge it all out. A flashback to my bulimic days in college, eat and then vomit! But no way am I going back to all of those unhealthy behaviors. Instead I decided to sit down and try to figure it out.

What I found is that I tend to snack, nibble and taste in the afternoon hours before my husband gets home from work, and especially while preparing dinner. Sometimes it’s nutritarian food but often it’s what I prepare for my husband’s dinner, and he does not eat ETL. A taste here, a nibble there, a lick of the spoon, etc. It doesn’t seem like a lot but it sure adds up over the night, over the days and certainly over the weeks. So I decided that I was going to tighten up my food and be 100% one day at a time.

Sunday morning I put pinto beans, mushrooms, onions, peppers and tomatoes in the crock pot. I planned out meals for the week and prepped lots of veggies for salads. I know a routine works well for me so I decided to eat just my smoothie for lunch at noon every day and then beans and a big salad for dinner every night. With a frozen berry smoothie for dessert. AND most importantly I vowed to not taste or nibble or snack at all during the week.

Most nights it wasn’t difficult. I set up a reminder on my phone telling me not to snack, nibble or taste that goes off at the time I’m prepping dinner. Last night for some reason was really hard. I wanted salt really badly. I wanted to taste my husband’s dinner because I knew it was salty. I wanted to dump salt on my beans, they seemed so bland. I was able to persevere and not taste, nibble or snack and I also didn’t put salt on my beans. It was hard, but I knew I needed to weigh today and salt would not help have a good weigh in! So I made it through dinner and had blueberries and banana for dessert.

As of this morning I’ve been 100% six days in a row! And of course it works and resulted in not only weight loss, but feeling so much better! I feel thinner! And that is the best feeling of all and keeps me motivated to keep going and reach my goals.

Pictures attached are my favorite detox drink made with cucumber, lemon, ginger and water blended. It tastes great and is very refreshing! My new 40oz. smoothie bottle and salad chopper. And last a ring I bought myself to remind me love myself and keep staying true to myself and Eat to Live!
